MEPIS was commissioned in partnership with AKA Architects to provide MEP/FP Engineering design for the renovation to include a new building addition and a new separate car wash building. MEPIS performed a survey and documented existing conditions of MEP systems within the project area. Mechanical scope included design of HVAC systems (make-up air, RTU’s, VRF, etc.), duct layout for supply/return and exhaust ventilation systems, controls for new system. Electrical scope consisted of branch power distribution, electrical load layouts (e.g. receptacles, mechanical loads, car wash, etc.), circuiting and controls for interior light fixtures and exterior light poles, emergency and egress lighting, fire alarm system modifications, rough-in for security systems/communications (tele/data) and cable television systems. Plumbing scope included domestic cold & hot water piping within the project area, sanitary and vent piping within project area, water service for new car wash building. Fire Protection scope was made up of sprinkler revisions as necessary to accommodate new space layout, specific sprinkler head layout with consideration of unit aesthetics, minimizing the number and visibility.
