Northwestern University - Akono Lab Renovations

MEPIS was commissioned by Northwestern University to design the MEP/FP system of approximately 600 GSF of floor space in Tech Building Room AG51, renovating the existing space and modifying all MEP/FP systems as required.

The design included modification of the existing HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing system to accommodate the architectural changes. Existing ducts and controls, including air flow from “very clean” work areas to “clean” work area and fume hood exhaust we also modified. Design of interior lighting and controls, feeders, and branch circuiting for equipment, appliances, and wiring devices, including under-counter UPS for new humidity chamber and installation of new power outlets and data connections for new electrical loads. Surveyed and documented the existing water and waste systems, and design modifications to existing plumbing system for new lab sink. MEPIS developed design drawings and specifications and provided construction administration services.
