MEPIS was commissioned by the University of Illinois at Chicago to provide professional engineering services for replacement of boilers & chillers at the UIC Art and Exhibition Hall Building. MEPIS surveyed and documented existing condition of the Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. The Architecture scope of work included design modifications to mechanical room to allow access around chillers, and access to the mechanical room for existing boiler removal and new boiler installation. The mechanical scope included design for the removal of existing chillers, installation of new chillers, modification of existing piping, replacement of chilled water condenser water pumps, and controls for new system. Electrical scope consisted of design modifications of electrical power for mechanical equipment, lighting in work area, and fire alarm devices in work area. Plumbing scope included modifications to floor drains, and existing makeup water domestic connection if required. Fire Protection scope was to provide minor sprinkler revisions as necessary to accommodate new space layout.
