Chicago Public Schools: Cameron Elementary School - Classroom Conversions

MEPIS in partnership with  HPZS worked together for the conversion of two classrooms, one into a new physics lab and the other into a chemistry lab. MEPIS conducted a survey and documented the existing condition of the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Low Voltage systems. The Mechanical scope consisted a review of the test and balance reports, design of fume hood exhaust systems and associated BAS monitoring. Electrical scope included design modifications of branch circuiting, new or replacement branch panelboards, and new raceways and outlet locations for data to accommodate room requirements. Low Voltage scope consisted of infrastructure for new audio systems, new interactive TV, short throw projector, speakers, drop-down remote-controlled projector screen, wall mounted wire mold raceways, raceway mounted receptacles, data outlets, conduit, and branch circuit wiring. Plumbing scope included design of sinks/eye wash stations with associated supplies, drains, acid basins, and lab gas systems.
