MEPIS was commissioned to provide MEP/FP/Security & Communication Engineering design for the renovation/conversion of an existing 12,000 square foot building in Arlington Heights, IL into a daycare. The building was previously used as an automotive repair shop and flower shop.

MEPIS conducted a Survey of the MEP system and documented existing conditions within project area. Mechanical scope included a new Roof Top-Unit (RTU) air system, layout for supply/return and exhaust ventilation system, and controls for new system. Electrical scope consisted of design for branch power distribution, electrical load layouts, lighting systems for interior lighting, light poles for parking and exterior light bollards circuiting and controls, emergency and egress lighting, fire alarm system modifications/showing device location, rough-in for security systems/communication (tele/data) and cable television systems. Plumbing scope included sprinkler revisions, and specific sprinkler head layout with consideration of unit aesthetics, minimizing the number and visibility of heads to the greatest extent possible.
