The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) commissioned MEPIS, in partnership with Moody Nolan Architects and KJWW Engineering Consultants, for the remodeling of the Medical Science Building (MSB), 835 South Wolcott Avenue, Chicago, a 185,000-square foot research laboratory building. This multi-phase project involves the renovation of the entire building for state-of-the-art research laboratories. The scope of work includes comprehensive laboratory renovations, converting non-laboratory spaces to new laboratories, and modernizing and repairing or replacing all related infrastructure components, including but not limited to MEP systems, emergency power, fire alarm and fire protection, roof, façade, windows and other related infrastructure systems. The scope will include sequence scheduling for each phase. In addition to the development of the modernization study.  The project is to be designed to LEED Silver at a minimum with LEED Gold as an aspirational goal. The modernization study and sequence schedule will establish the scope of the work, budget and phasing for the entire building.
