MEPIS was commissioned by Shive-Hattery to provide Mechanical and Fire Protection Professional Design Engineering for a radiology project in Mitchell Hospital. MEPIS surveyed and documented the existing mechanical and Fire protection systems within the project area. Mechanical scope consisted of review of the University of Chicago Medicine’s shielding analysis, evaluating existing system capacity and ability to service new equipment and indicate IDPH ventilation requirements on plan, design modifications of ventilation (supply, return, exhaust) as required for new layouts, including relocation of diffusers, modifications of temperature control systems, provide design for additional cooling if required, provide minor diffuser relocation as necessary to accommodate layout of new equipment. Fire Protection scope included minor sprinkler revisions as necessary to accommodate new equipment.
