Chicago Public Schools: Emiliano Zapata Academy

MEPIS was commissioned by Chicago Public Schools for the replacement of a failed 1500MBH hydronic boiler of an original 1994 school building that had been scavenged for parts to keep the school’s other two boilers running, leaving no redundancy or spare capacity in the heating system. Complicating the replacement were the access conditions; boiler room wall, door frames, and adjacent ductwork had to be removed to accommodate the demolition and installation of new equipment.
