MEPIS was commissioned by University of Chicago for the replacement of the existing pool air handling unit/dehumidification unit and associated components/controls and bringing the air handling unit (AHU) is 15 years old and provides 140 tons of mechanical cooling. The unit is a packaged air-cooled unit that relies on (2) 75 HP DX compressor that have been previously replaced. MEPIS scope of work is to review the existing UC test and balance reports, as-built drawings, survey and document the existing pool AHU including all piping and ductwork, explore the best solutions for the new AHU; provide design for DDC temperature controls of the new AHU including interface to campus BAS via Bacnet interface; develop order of magnitude budgetary cost for proposed work; survey the electrical systems; provide design for the electrical service for the new equipment and for any miscellaneous electrical items.
