Recording Studio & Computer Lab

MEPIS was commissioned by Studio ARQ Architects for the electrical design and minor mechanical modifications for an existing space to be converted into an office, study rooms, and a teen room with recording studio and stage. In addition, a new computer lab was to be built on the other side of the existing wall.

MEPIS engineers surveyed the building and determined that there was sufficient capacity in a new panel recently installed to serve the new computer lab, while the renovated rooms could be served by the existing panels within. A new power and lighting layout was designed with panel and lighting schedules. Mechanical support included the addition of new ductwork to serve the existing rooms that were now to be closed off from the existing plenum, and plumbing notes to dictate the removal of an existing pair of sinks.
