MEPIS is seeking experienced professionals to work in our Mechanical Department. This position will perform work predominantly in Healthcare and Higher Education. Other markets such as Institutional, Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Government, Hospitality and K-12 facilities will be expected to work on as well and will require the initiative to take the actions needed with minimal supervision. As MEPIS candidate, responsibilities will be broader than in most similar positions, so an ideal applicant will be able to handle a variety of tasks without being pigeonholed into one small segment of the field. POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer at MEPIS, you’ll be a part of a diverse team that works closely with all MEPIS clients on a variety of projects, both small and large. We hold ourselves accountable to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction, so delivering top quality work on all projects and tasks is an expectation that we have set for all our employees. As a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer, you will actively be a part of the full project cycle, starting with the pre-programming phase, throughout the construction, and participate in the close-out as well. Although this is a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection role, we operate as a team, working closely with our Electrical, Mechanical, and Leadership teams will be essential. You will perform work predominantly in Higher Education, Healthcare, K-12, Residential and Industrial facilities. At MEPIS our team members will be positively challenged, offered mentorship from senior professionals, and valued as family members. YOUR EXPERIENCE SHOULD INCLUDE:

• 10 years of experience in design and drafting within MEP Engineering disciplines, especially within Plumbing and Fire Protection
• Certified Plumbing Design Technician (CPDT) preferred
• Providing Peer Review of MEP systems designed by others
• Modeling & Analysis of all aspects of the plumbing and fire protection systems
• Interface with code officials and contractors, and working with architects and clients
• Development of initial plumbing and dire protection system concepts
• Designing plumbing and fire protection systems
• Providing preliminary calculations for projects
• Develop and Edit specifications
• Survey and evaluation of existing plumbing and fire protection conditions
• Construction Administration
• Assist with Project Management
• Strong working knowledge of building, plumbing, and fire codes

DESIRED SOFTWARE PROFICIENCIES:

• Recent Revit experience required
• Recent AutoCAD (2010 and beyond) required
• Microsoft Office Suite Programs required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Significant Autodesk Revit experience strongly preferred; ability to learn it as needed required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD MEP to produce drawings and models for various projects
• Coordination and Collaboration between MEPIS' Teams
• Respond toShop Drawings as part of the submittal and review process
• Respond to project RFI’s accurately and in a timely manner
• Construction site visits and reviews to confirm process is in alignment with drawings provided
• Code Reviews to verify project compliance
• Completing additional duties as assigned
